Angles

This week we have been learning angles. These are two of the angles that we have learnt this week, obtuse and reflex.

On Wednesday our class went timber nook it was bassed on teamwork and working with people that you haven't worked with them before.

Problem Solving In Maths

WE HAVE BEEN LEARNING TO CALCULATE PERCENTAGES TO WHOLE NUMBERS AMOUNT USING BENCHMARKS.

I chose these to because I like how I worked them out and I did two different ways.

There are 180 students at Jamie’s school. 30% of them went to camp

How many went on camp? What I do is i times the number together to get 5400 then divide that number by 100 so it will be 54.

Devon’s family went out for dinner. The cost of the meal was $140. They gave a 15% tip.

How much did they tip? 140/10=14 Halved=7+14= 21

Stereotyping

We had a discussion why you shouldn't judge people on the way the look and what they do We also discuss what that could do to them if you said it.

My Writing Report

Many men have dedicated their lives to the pursuit of shaping a better board. Advances in surfboard design over the years range from size, weight and shape, to fins, to the materials used, to different boards designed for different waves. The board those days were ranged 14-16 feet. They made the first surfboard out of a carved piece wood. Some researchers place the first sighting of surfing in Tahiti in 1767 by the crew of the Dolphin?.

The surfboard, Advances over the years include the addition of one or more fins on the bottom of the board to improve direction and  stability, and numerous improvements in materials and shape. Modern surfboards are made of polyurethane or polystyrene foam covered with layers of fiberglass cloth, and polyester or epoxy resin. The lighter board has less liters, It's skinnier and smaller. Boards that have more litters are usually long boards and are easier to ride.

My favourite innovation is the five finer and the smaller, lighter board.One of the latest innovations on the surfboard is a 5 finer. The five finder helps you go faster and turn faster. You can do cleaner and steezer turns. FCSII fins you have to screw into your board. FCSII fin you clip into your board. If I was you I would buy them.

Pasta Challenge

Applying the traits of an innovator

Purpose: We have been investigating innovators and innovation. We have discovered that innovators have special traits that help them to be leaders in their fields. We also discovered that we share many of the same traits.

We applied our skills to a group technology challenge- “The leaning tower of pasta”. Success criteria: Build the tallest freestanding tower using only 40 small marshmallows and half a packet of spaghetti pasta. Construct it within the 20-minute timeframe. Only use the materials supplied

How did we use our individual traits in our group: I was determined to make support to hold the tower up. I think our team was good a communicating with each.

Next time we could try: Next time I could not eat the pasta and marshmallows. Try a different shape.
